We donated more than 100 eco-bottles to Bosque Urbano

This initiative arose thanks to the active participation and continuous commitment of our teams in Batidero and in the Albardón offices.
At Vicuña, we believe that every small action counts when it comes to taking care of our planet. Therefore, last March 11 we took a new step in our environmental commitment by donating more than 100 eco-bottles to Bosque Urbano, a company dedicated to transforming plastic waste into recycled plastic wood.
This donation is part of Ecomin, a project that emerged in 2024 as an idea within an environmental contest in Vicuña and that today has become a shared habit. For several months, we separated single-use plastics (such as bottle labels, straws, candy wrappers, cookie packages, among others) and transformed them into eco-bottles, turning all the material into a resource instead of waste. Eco-bottles are an effective way to reduce waste: they are plastic bottles filled with clean, dry waste that cannot be recycled in the conventional way. In this way, we prevent them from ending up in the environment or in landfills, and turn them into a useful resource.
Bosque Urbano is in charge of converting this material into plastic wood. Plastic wood is an ecological substitute for natural wood, which helps to avoid cutting down forests and reduces environmental pollution. This material is 100% recycled and recyclable, highly resistant, durable and maintenance-free, which makes it a sustainable solution for various uses.
From Vicuña, we consider it essential to strengthen links with institutions and projects that, like Bosque Urbano, promote innovative proposals that generate a positive impact on the environment. That is why we continue to promote campaigns and actions that reinforce our commitment to a more sustainable mining industry.
