We aim to create a multi-generational mining complex with synergies that could make it one of the largest in the world.

Vicuña Corp. is a Canadian incorporated company incorporated as the joint venture entity between BHP and Lundin Mining in relation to the Josemaría deposit, an advanced copper deposit, located in San Juan Province, Argentina, and the Filo del Sol copper-gold-silver deposit, located in San Juan, Argentina, and adjacent Region III, Chile. BHP and Lundin Mining each own 50% of Vicuña Corp.

Our Assets

Josemaría

Copper, silver and gold deposit, with an estimated useful life of more than 19 years.
A conventional open pit mine is planned, with ore processing by milling, flotation and concentrate production.

Location

471 km from the city of San Juan by the current route, at more than 4,230 meters above sea level.

Current Phase

In pre-construction stage, re-evaluation and permit processing.

Filo del Sol

Epithermal copper, gold and silver deposit. One of the most important in the Vicuña District.

Location

11 km from Josemaría reservoir, on the border between Argentina and Chile.

Current Phase

In active exploration stage, with attractive copper and gold targets.

Green Summit

It is located approximately 7 kilometers west of Josemaría and 6 kilometers northeast of Filo del Sol. This prospect is classified as an epithermal copper-gold-silver system overlain by a porphyry system found at depth. The mineralized system has yielded promising copper and gold values and lies within the same metallogenic corridor as Filo del Sol, part of the broader Vicuña Belt. This belt is known to host multiple intrusive phases associated with extensive hydrothermal alteration and significant mineralization potential.

The integration of these deposits has the potential to transform the Vicuña District into one of the largest in the world, optimizing costs and creating unprecedented opportunities.

Towards an integrated project
