Mining Day: Commitment to development, knowledge generation and collective prosperity.

As we commemorate National Mining Day every May 7, we reaffirm the fundamental value that this sector contributes to the growth and development of communities. Mining today is much more than the extraction of resources: it is a complex and fascinating web of knowledge, a network where multiple disciplines converge.
This activity requires the convergence of a wide range of specialties; currently, a single mining project can involve more than 100 professional and technical profiles. Among the many areas of knowledge involved are: geology, engineering, occupational health and safety, sustainability, environmental management, electricity, masonry, agronomy, gastronomy, transportation, drilling, hotel management, translation, law, human resources, communication, design, information technology, logistics, sociology and accounting, among others.
We firmly believe that innovation, perspective and diversity are fundamental to the advancement of our industry. To continue to evolve, we need to constantly challenge the status quo and seek new ways of doing everyday tasks.
In this regard, we are aware of the growing, but still challenging, role of women in mining. Today, women represent about 15% of the mining workforce in Argentina. At Vicuña Corp, we are committed to promoting greater inclusion, because we know that diversity of thought is key to driving innovation and progress.
Mining is a transforming force that drives the development of countries, adapting to challenges with sustainability, technology, participation and equity. And in this context, we especially want to celebrate the people who are part of this great industry, because they, with their talent and dedication, are our greatest treasure.

Day to celebrate and commemorate
Within the framework of the National Mining Day, representatives from Vicuña were present at the traditional ceremony. This year, for the first time, the official celebration was held at the Veladero mine, located in the department of Iglesia.
Carolina Laumann, Communications Manager, and Sabrina Barboza, from the Institutional Relations team, participated in the activity. The visit included a tour of the facilities, reaching an altitude of 4,500 meters to observe the entire operation from a lookout point. Afterwards, the delegation went to a work front, where they witnessed up close the activity of the loader and the trucks. At this point, there was a meeting with off-road truck operators and drivers, who shared their work experiences, complemented by a brief technical explanation from the workers present.
